How do i register a bus for personal use/RV instead of commercial?

I just bought a bus that has been stripped down and with nothing but a table inside. Im trying to register it for personal/RV use and was told i need an inspection, but researching online ive been reading i dont? Any help?

(just spoke w/a thorough conversation w/ a CA DMV rep)Bus to RV Requirements:Less than 26,000 LBS and shorter than 40’ , can drive with Class C-Motorhome: no need for  Class B. License. -Motorhome or Not/ i.e. Bus, if over 26000, you need Class B License-Minimum requirements for an RV:      Need to show that the interior is used for living space, not passenger space and you’ll qualify as RV
Need at least four of these and provide statement of facts:      Portable water supply system, separate electric/propane supply, kitchen, refrigeration/ice box, heating or air-conditioning system, separate 110V supply, propane supply
