Considering buying a car in Oregon, but registering in California. What options do I have?
Do I need to get the car shipped to California, or could I drive it unregistered, though legally down my self?

Is there for instance an "in-transit pass" or something available?

My hunch would be that you could get a temporary registration/license plate, but I can't find that info on the ORV site. If i were you, I would contact them directly to find out how to go about that. It would be costly to have the car shipped--and illegal not to have it registered in your name.
