Can I get a state medical exemption for my ambiopia condition (Vision) even if I have no previous CDL experience
Not for Intrastate by my individual state (Ohio)I have 20/40 in right eye and 20/200 in the left. The minimum standard for a CDL being issued is 20/40 in each eye. I was unable to pass a vision test when I was given a physical for CDL Training school. The clinic that administered my physical referred me to the Federal PUC.I contacted the office in Washington D.C.and was told that I can not get a CDL intrastate exemption due to not having any previous Semi truck driving experience. Will the state allow me to traing and get my CDL with my eye issue? My eye issue is a condition called ambiopia and is only in my left eye and still allows me to see I just cant make out small details up close but color and light and movement are all there..........PS I want to drive a truck Please help thanks.
