I had a lapse in coverage on ins, now 4 months later I find out my tags are revoked? Geico was to take care of it?

I had a lapse in coverage and was not even aware until I received notice from the DMV, well when I got their letter the 10 days were already up. So, I contacted them, the lady then proceeded to tell me I needed a form from Geico. Well, the lady I had already talked to at Geico told me she would take care of it all, bc it was their error there was a lapse to begin with. So, I thought all this was taken care of, until NOW....all this happened back in November I think, and now I am just finding out my tags are revoked, and GOSH knows what else is wrong, because I was not aware of this, I had no idea or received NO notice from anyone it was not taken care of. I was told I should have received a letter or card from DMV but I have not nor did not receive anything but that lapse in coverage letter. I have never ever been in this predicament before, and I do not even know where to begin about my tags. I do have insurance and have had insurance the whole time. I just need my tags reinstated. I thank GOD nothing happened over this time to get me in trouble. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
