Missouri DMV won't accept my Illinois certified birth certificate copy. What do I do?
I was born in Illinois but moved to Missouri as a child. Now I'm seventeen and attempting to get my Missouri driver's permit. I passed my test, but when I tried to get my photo ID, the office told me that they wouldn't accept the certified copy of my birth certificate, which is all that my mother received after my birth. They keep the real one on file, and I am having extreme difficulty obtaining the real one. The copy I have says that it's certified, has both state and county raised seals, and is verified. What should my next step be?
