Unfortunately there is no online ordering option for Illinois registration stickers. You could mail-order it IF you have the registration notice that would have arrived in the mail, otherwise you'll need to buy a sticker in person at a DMV office, bank, or other place that sells them on behalf of the Secretary of State. They are good for a year so you'll be covered until 6-30-10 whether or not you move. You can leave his DL # on this registration (since he's the owner) or request that no number be listed, all that refers to is the registered owner and not who is driving the car or anything like that.
