Is it illegal to display your license plate verticaly instead of horizontaly on a custom motor cycle?
The license plate is mounted on a custom bracket promently displayed with a brake light and running light postioned above it for night time riding. Visiblity of the license plate is not impaired and is mounted on the axle nut on the left side of the the rear wheel.

Yes. Due to new traffic laws passed in late 2008, vertical license plates are in fact unlawful.

Yes, and the fine is like $1400 for the 1st offense and over $2000 from then on...............Better get it changed!!

just got pulled over for that......I didn't know..and I just borrowed it from my friend.....I hope it's wrong and won't cost me $1400 I guess it's up to the judge will decide......
