I will have a restricted colorado license until 9-26-2011 and will have to use an ignition interlock device....
I have a recent license revocation for a DUI in Colorado that occurred after Jan 1 2009 with a BAC of .17 or higher, requiring me to have 1 month revocation and then 2 years 8 months of a restricted license with the use of an ignition interlock device. My license is reinstated after 9 months, or rather 1 month no driving, then i believe it is a probabtionary license for 8 months. But then I believe it is still a called restricted license for 2 years following that. My question is, I don't plan on staying in CO until this restricted license is up. I would be violating any other states license requirements if I moved there, but did not get a new license. Will all states honor the additional 2 year restricted license (post the initial 9 month revocation, allowed to become 1 month revocation then 8 months ignition interlock) that CO wants? Basically, after the 9 months are up, can I move and get a new license without having to have the ignition interlock for 2 more years? In particular, GA or TN (both of which are not part of the interstate drivers compact)are places I am considering moving to...would I be able to get a license after my 9 month revocation in CO is up? Or will they deny me since my current NDR report would show I have a CO restricted license with ignition interlock? I am highly confused.....
