What Arizona Statute defines the operation of your vehicle in the left turn lane?

Additional Details

Specifically, what amount of distance may a driver operate their vehicle in the "suicide lane" or center left turn lane? This is referencing a two way street with two lanes traveling in each direction, that share a center left turn lane. The officer "quoted Arizona law" that you may drive in the lane from one intersection to the next (in my case more than 1/4 of a mile), even without using a turn signal or a handsignal.
